Benjamin Spicer began his journey with FIRST Robotics in 2010 mentoring FRC Team #2428. Since then, he has been coaching the FTC Whoa!Bots and FLL Robot Panthers at Sewickley Academy. He began his teaching career in 2007 focusing on physics and astronomy. He has taught many STEM courses including subjects from Earth Science and Mathematics. A professional audio engineer, Ben is also often found running cables and pushing faders at concert venues around Pittsburgh. You can also frequently find him volunteering on the roof of Carnegie Science Center in the Buhl Observatory during SkyWatch sharing one of his favorite hobbies with visitors. He has been lucky to see many of his former students advance to successful STEM careers. Hearing their resilient stories of accomplishment is incredibly rewarding for him.
