Cristy McCloskey has been the Senior School Technology Coordinator at Sewickley Academy since August of 2002. She works closely with students and faculty to help with their technology needs, questions, and problems. She also teaches the Computer Science and Robotics classes in the Senior School (grades 9 – 12). Some of the classes she teaches include Introduction to Programming, Programming II, Programming III, AP Computer Science, Interactive Design and Development, Web Page Design, Innovation Workshop, Game Design, and Robotics. At one point or another in her career at Sewickley Academy, she has assisted with robotics in all three divisions at her school. Lower School students (grades PreK - 5) use tools like the Bee Bot, LittleBits, and Lego Wedo kits to get started with robotics. Middle School students continue working with Lego (EV3) and participate in First Lego League competitions as well. She is very thankful to be part of an institution that sees a need for starting robotics at an early age. As a result of these programs, Sewickley Academy has many students interested in the robotics program when they reach the Senior School, and they are doing a great job. She is very happy to be one of the mentors for the Whoa!Bots!
