Head Coach 

Brock Anderson

13th Year

Head Coach Brock Anderson took over the Seward Baseball program in August of 2011.  He is working to build a strong tradition of excellence starting his first year. In his 1st year as the Head Coach, he guided his team to the school's 1st winning season with a mark of 12-8. The Bluejays hosted districts as a top 6 seed, made their 1st state appearance, and also recorded the school's 1st win at the state tournament.  Anderson has guided the Bluejays to 3 district titles and 4 state appearances in his 13 years. Coach Anderson heads into his 13th year with a program record of 126-99. 

Coach Anderson was born and raised in Seward and attended Seward High School. Coach Anderson played 1 year of college baseball at Midland College where he was a starting outfield for the Warriors.  After transferring to UNL, he received his Bachelor of Science in Education and is certified to teach PE K-12, he also holds a Masters of Curriculum and Instruction from Doane College. 

Coach Anderson is employed by Seward Public Schools and is the elementary school physical education teacher.

Anderson served as the summer legion coach for Seward for  6 years.  In his 6 years as the seniors' coach, he has a record of 108-70-1.  

Previous to coaching at Seward, Coach Anderson started his coaching career in Dwight Ne coaching the Sr. Legion team.  He spent 3 years in Dwight with his teams earning 2 district titles, 1 district runner-up, and winning the 2005 Class C Legion State Title. 

Anderson also has coached during the high school season as a varsity assistant at Lincoln Southeast for 2 years and was the head reserve coach at Lincoln Northeast for 1 year. In 2006, Coach Anderson made the move to the college ranks where he served as an assistant coach at Doane College for 4 years.

Coach Anderson also serves as the assistant varsity softball coach and is the head JV coach. This is his 2nd stint with the softball program.

Coach Anderson has been married to his wife Jessica for 20 years and they have 3 daughters, Nataliy who is 20, Dalaney who is 17 and Berkley who is 9.

Assistant Coach

Jeremy Fries 

5th Year

Jeremy Fries is entering his 5th year with the Bluejays.  He will be the head JV coach and an assistant for the varsity games.  Coach Fries was previously the head coach at Crete High School for 8 years.  In 2014, his Crete team qualified for the Class B State Tournament. 

He began his baseball career playing junior college baseball at Dodge City Community College and Western Nebraska Community College before transferring to Doane University.  He moved quickly from player to coach and served as the pitching coach at Doane University from 2003-2007.  Coach Fries has spent many of his summers devoted to coaching legion baseball.  He began his coaching career by guiding the DCB (Dannebrog-Cairo-Boelus) Juniors to the 2002 Class C State Championship with a 27-5 record.  He also has coached 3 teams to state runner-up finishes (DCB - 2004 Class C Senior, Crete Juniors - 2012 Class B, Crete Seniors - 2014 Class B).  

Coach Fries teaches mathematics at Seward High School and his current classes consist of Algebra II, AP Statistics, and Multimedia. He is also the Striv coordinator and can be seen at many events live streaming the varsity athletic games.

Coach Fries is a 2005 Doane University graduate and holds Masters degrees from Doane University (Curriculum and Instruction), University of Nebraska-Lincoln (Mathematics), and Doane University (Educational Leadership).  

Jeremy is married to Alana and they have 2 sons,  Maverick & Hudson.

5th Year

Coach Pierce will be the head reserve coach. Pierce will also be a bench coach for the JV and varsity games.
