This webpage was created to fulfill the requirements of the web-based plant accounts project for The University of the South's FORS 211 course. It includes 50 different species, mostly collected from the Perimeter Trail. 5 species were collected elsewhere: fortune's spindle from Tullahoma, TN, sago cycad, golden rain tree, and oriental persimmon from New Orleans, LA, and Japanese maple from Atmore, AL. To see information about the trees collected, use the table of contents on the left.
Each point on the map above represents a tree I used for this project. You can zoom or drag on the map to see the points in a specific section. Clicking on a point will show you the common name, scientific name, latitude, longitude, and a link to that tree's webpage.
This project was completed by Shelby Phillips, a student at the University of the South. I'm a sophomore anthropology student with a love for nature and hiking.
