No surprises — just good prep. 😁
CDE is designed for intermediate to advanced dancers ages 12+ who have interest in learning about/training in the commercial dance industry.
No prior commercial training is required.
What is Commercial Dance
Commercial dance is the style of dance performed in professional entertainment and media. It includes:
Music videos and concert tours
Television and film
Musical theatre and live productions
Award shows and special events
Social media and digital content
Commercial dance blends strong technical training with performance quality and versatility. Dancers are expected to:
Pick up choreography quickly
Adapt across multiple styles (jazz, hip hop, contemporary, heels, etc.)
Perform with confidence, clarity, and personality
Be camera-aware and industry-ready
It is both athletic and artistic — designed for dancers who want to train beyond the studio and step into the professional world.
Registration, Payment, and Cancelation Policy
Registration is confirmed once payment has been received in full.
Cancellations after the final payment date may not be eligible for refund.
If CDE must cancel the event, participants will receive a full refund.
Attendance
Participants are expected to attend all scheduled classes and activities.
No partial-day discounts are available.
Code of Conduct
CDE is a pre-professional-level environment. Participants are expected to:
Arrive on time
Be respectful to faculty and fellow dancers
Maintain professionalism in class
Represent their studios and schools with integrity
Respect the studios and facilities
Failure to uphold these standards may result in dismissal during CDE.
🎬 Because you’ll be dancing on camera.
The on-set portion of the Commercial Dance Experience focuses on how to perform for film and television — which means we’ll be filming throughout the day.
📲 Where does the footage go?
Select footage will be edited and shared on the Seton Hill Dance Department Instagram and other CDE-related platforms to showcase the experience.
📝 Why the form matters
A signed media release allows us to include you in:
Video footage
Photos
Credits and social media content
Without a signed waiver, we unfortunately cannot include dancers in any filmed content.
