PJAS Dates to remember:
- School competition January 6
- Regional Competition at Penn State Behrend Campus January 25
- State Competition Penn State University Park Campus May 17, 18, and 19
Now that you have chosen a topic, you are now ready to research and begin the PJAS journey. The criteria/check list will help you to include everything you need to be successful with your final presentation. You will be responsible to make a power point presentation of you project, before the science fair that will be in January. The following list of project checkpoint dates is to help to stay on track.
September 20, 2019
All forms and documentation due-10 points/1st draft of proposal – 20 points
October 7, 2019
Final copy of the written proposal.-40 points
November 5, 2019
Project completed – show data to Ms. Gorman-40 points
(Plants maybe be allowed extra time)
- Begin to write 1st draft of presentation
- Have an adult read, make suggestions
- When given the okay from Ms. Gorman, begin working on your power point presentation, which must include, but is not limited to the following:
- Title Slide
- Hypothesis slide
- If needed, information or vocabulary slide
- If needed, illustration (pictures) slides
- Materials slide
- Procedure slide
- If needed, sample slide
- Graphs
- Conclusion slide
- Pictures to enhance understanding of project
- Make sure slides transition
November 14, 2019
First draft of power point presentation due –40 points
- Have a fellow student list to your presentation and give suggestions
- Present to Ms. Gorman and class for suggestions
November 22, 2019
Last draft of project with power point presentation completed-40 points
- Work with a minimum of 2 other students on practicing this presentation, before you present to class and Ms. Gorman
- Sign up for a presentation time
December 5, 2019
Final Project Presentation- 300 points (see rubric for point break down)
