August 2025
We’re excited to kick off the 2025–26 school year at Waldron Elementary! I hope your summer was filled with fun, rest, and time with friends and family.
As we begin the school year, I’m looking forward to seeing so many familiar faces and also welcoming new families to our school community. Last year was full of growth, learning, and special moments—and I know this year will be even better. Each month, I’ll send out the Tribe Newsletter with important updates, reminders, and highlights from around the school. If you ever have questions or need anything, don’t hesitate to reach out at (765) 544-3331 or email me at bgarrison@ses.k12.in.us.
Thank you for being a valued part of our school family. Let’s make this another great year—together!
~Mrs. Garrison
Join Us for Back to School Night!
We hope to see you and your family at Back to School Night on Tuesday, August 5th from 5:00–6:00 p.m.
Come meet your child’s teacher, drop off school supplies, get transportation details, receive help with registration, and learn how to get involved in school and community programs.
It’s a great way to kick off the new school year—we can’t wait to welcome you!
Shelby Eastern Schools are now using a communication tool called Rooms to help parents and guardians stay connected with their child’s teachers. This unified system allows you to send and receive direct messages with teachers, as well as stay up to date with class newsletters, announcements, and important updates—all in one place.
Rooms is accessible through the Shelby Eastern Schools app. Be sure to download the app, and watch for an email invite from your child’s teacher to get started!
Don’t Forget to Complete Online Enrollment
If you haven’t already enrolled your student through PowerSchool, please take a few minutes to do so now. The state requires updated forms each year for all students, even those returning from last year.
As part of the enrollment process, there is also a transportation form to complete. If your child needs to be picked up or dropped off at a location other than the home address listed in PowerSchool, you’ll also need to fill out the Alternate Transportation Form. This helps us ensure your child gets to and from school safely.
If you need help with registration, feel free to call us at 765-544-3331 or stop by the office—we’re happy to assist!
Waldron is excited to have a branch of the Boys and Girls Club located right here at the elementary school. The Boys and Girls Club offers before school care starting at 6:30 a.m. for $5 per day. They also have an after school care each day that runs until 6:30 p.m. for $60 per year. Students will enjoy programs, homework help, and snacks. Please contact Lisi Campbell at lcampbell@shelbybgc.com with any questions. You can also visit them at Back to School Night and also get more information from the Boys and Girls Club website.
Parents we need you! Get involved with the Waldron Elementary PTO. This organization helps provide activities for students and raise funds that go back directly to our classrooms and students. Meetings are the last Wednesday Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m. If you have questions, please contact PTO Presidents, Jess DeHart, Heidi Nash-Kniffen, or Lauren Stodgell at WESPTO@ses.k12.in.us
We hope to see you there!
