Summer 2026
As the school year has come to a close and summer is now underway, I hope you are all enjoying a fun, relaxing, and well deserved break. I want to thank you for another wonderful year at Waldron Elementary. A special congratulations again to our fifth graders as they begin an exciting new chapter at the Jr.-Sr. High School. We are so proud of all they accomplished and know they will do great things!
Please remember to review the important end of year documents that were sent home in your child’s Friday Folder including report cards and test results. As tradition, class lists will be posted on the elementary doors during Freedom Festival. There have also been updates to our Boys and Girls Club summer camp opportunities. Below, you will find helpful information regarding summer camp, the summer food program, registration details, and the calendar for the upcoming school year. Wishing you and your family a safe, happy, and memorable summer!
~Mrs. Garrison
Congratulations to our students who earned Honor Roll recognition for the final grading period! We are proud of their hard work and dedication. Check out the list of students here or by clicking the picture below.
Click on the picture above or this link to register your students for the 2026-27 school year, or get help registering in person on July 27 from 1-6 p.m. at Waldron High School. All students, new or returning, need to register before the start of school.
Summer Reading Program
I encourage all students to take part in the Summer Reading Program at the Shelby County Public Library! This year’s theme, “Unearth a Story,” is designed to dig into books and topics that spark curiosity and interests in readers of all ages. To complete the program, students simply need to read for 10 hours by July 12. Those who meet the goal will be invited to a celebratory pool party on Monday, July 13. Don’t miss the exciting Kick-Off Party on Monday, June 1 from 3–6 p.m.—a great opportunity to get signed up and learn more about the program!
Even though school is out for the break, our commitment to fueling community children with the meals they need to stay active remains as strong as ever! You can rely on Shelby Eastern Schools, in partnership with Chartwells, to deliver the nutritious, kid-approved meals your children enjoy. We are excited to serve you this summer as we promote a Happy & Healthy lifestyle!
Meal kits will include 5 days worth of meals on Wednesday’s including Breakfast and Lunch starting May 27th. Our pick up points will be at Waldron High School (cafeteria door) and Morristown High School (main entrance).
Details: Pick up days will be Wednesdays starting May 27th until July 29th from 11am-1pm.
Please note that you may only pick up from one meal site. Children 18 years and younger are eligible to participate. To comply with USDA regulations and maintain program integrity, a registration form must be completed for each child. You only have to fill out the registration form one time to cover the entire summer.

Summer Camp Update
Due to lower-than-anticipated enrollment numbers, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Shelby County will be bringing our Summer 2026 camp programming together at our Shelbyville Club location to create the best possible experience for our members.
Waldron camp participants will attend camp at the Shelbyville Club, where drop-off and pick-up will take place.
We are still accepting summer camp registrations, and all Club members are welcome to attend!
By bringing our campers together, we’re excited to offer a fun, engaging, and energetic summer full of activities, friendships, and opportunities to grow.
We appreciate your continued support and look forward to a great summer! If you have any questions or need more information, please reach out to Lisi Campbell at 765-561-7759 or email lcampbell@shelbybgc.com. You can also get more information from the Boys and Girls Club website.
