This is my 8th year teaching. This is my fifth year in second grade. I earned a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University. My husband, Ben, is a farmer. We have four kids. Brooke is 10 and is excited about fifth grade this year. Lauren Jo is 9 and is in third grade here at MES. Jack just turned 7 and is in second grade. Our youngest, Samantha, is 5 and attends Kindergarten at MES. I am looking forward to another great year in second grade!
Each day your child’s green “go” folder will come home. The front will have a weekly assignment sheet with a spelling list, vocabulary words, and homework assignments for each day. The green folder will also have a monthly calendar. Each day, your child will record their behavior color for your review. If you are making changes in your child's dismissal plan, please send a note in his/her green "go" folder or call the office.
We use a clip chart to monitor behavior in our classroom. Each student’s clip begins on green every morning and clips up for good behaviors and down for negative behaviors. Each afternoon the ending color will be recorded on the behavior calendar in their green folder.
Students in our classroom as well as students learning virtually at home will use Google Classroom. Students will soon be able to access Google Classroom through our class website.
