April 2025
It's no April's prank – we are quickly closing in on the end of the school year! While this time of year can be stressful and busy with state testing and end-of-year assessments, we hope it’s also filled with excitement as we look forward to field trips, graduations, and other fun end-of-year activities. Be sure to check out the upcoming events this month, and as always, don’t hesitate to reach out by phone at 765-544-3331 or email at bgarrison@ses.k12.in.us if you have any questions or concerns. We’re here to help make this end-of-year experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible!

Students in grades 3-5 will participate in Indiana's Learning Evaluation and Assessment Readiness Network (ILEARN), the summative accountability assessment for Indiana students. ILEARN measures student achievement and growth based on the Indiana Academic Standards in English/Language Arts and Mathematics for grades 3-8, Science for grades 4 and 6, and Social Studies for grade 5. This year the testing window is open from April 14 to May 9. It is essential that your child is present on testing dates to ensure they can complete the assessment. To help them perform their best, please encourage your child to get a good night's rest and eat a healthy breakfast before each testing day. Your support plays a crucial role in helping your child succeed during this important assessment period. If you have any questions or need more information, please don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher, the front office, or visit the IDOE website.
PTO will sponsor Donuts with Grownups on Friday, April 11th from 8-9 a.m. Bring your child to school and enjoy a complimentary donut and drink. This year we will not have a spring book fair, but students can pick out a gently used book to read and take home. As we get ready to relocate to the new discovery center, we are weeding out some of our library books. We would love for our students to have a book to take home!
Recycle Bowl
Pre-School Roundup is on April 2 from 6-7 p.m. Students must be 3 years old by August 1, 2025 and day time toilet trained to enroll. We look forward to welcoming our new students and families. Let us know if you have any questions.
