Post-baccalaureate programs: For applicants that already have an undergraduate degree in something other than a premedical major. These programs serve as a means for non-traditional applicants to medical school to complete premedical requirements and typically vary from 1-2 years in length.
Steps:
1. Decide if an MD/DO program is right for you? Are you pursuing a career in medicine for the right reasons?
2. Maintain a strong undergraduate GPA (or post-bacc GPA). Schools typically require a 3.5 as a minimum with many schools requiring GPAs closer to 4.0.
A. If you are a non-traditional student, you may have to attend a post-baccalaureate program to complete premed requirements.
3. Premed Major (typically)
