Who are we?
The SERUN Foundation (Socioeconomic Revitalization of Urban Neighborhoods) is a street-roots organization that focuses on finding solutions to systemic issues that plague our most vulnerable communities. We are a Dallas based 501c3 certified nonprofit that's led by local activists. Founded in 2021, The SERUN team launched its first program, Clean the Block Initiative, an urban environmental outreach program. This initiative focuses on restoring the health of our neighborhoods and serves as our organization's "first touch" strategy to begin combatting waste mismanagement, polluted water/land/air, and illegal dumping. With this program spearheading our efforts, our team has been able to provide a litany of resources, programs, and city partnerships to the residents of the communities that we serve.

Our Vision:
In our opinion, one of the main issues facing low-income neighborhoods is the lack of community-owned institutions, reliance on outside investment, and the crippling aftereffects of systematic oppression. We plan to lift every disenfranchised community in America out of poverty by establishing complete energy self-sustainability, providing full accessibility to wealth, and developing an interconnected system of resource sharing between every affected neighborhood. We plan to have SERUN chapters in every at-risk neighborhood in America and develop an interlocking system of support that will provide all the necessary resources/tools each neighborhood needs according to their needs.
What Inspires Us:
We draw our inspiration from the very people we serve. Each story told to us, every tragedy or celebration we hear from speaking with the residents of these communities, drives our team to fight harder for the basic rights of all those we serve. Learning from the leaders of the past and present gives us the inspiration to create the leaders of tomorrow.

Every donation we receive is another opportunity for our communities to thrive. The money we make goes directly into our programs, outreach efforts, and pockets of the communities we serve. We believe in collective resource sharing and our initiative reflects those efforts.
