Kami is a Chrome Extension that was pushed out to the student laptops in Grades 3-8. It integrates with Canvas so that students can annotate on pdfs or other documents. The school has an upgraded site license so that students can turn in their work straight to Canvas. Look for the Kami logo on the Chrome browser bar! If you don't see it you can get it HERE

The teacher creates a Kami Assignment. Then the student can open the file directly from the Canvas assignment into Kami.

After opening the file, students are then able to complete their work using the Kami tools

When the student is finished with their work they can then turn in the assignment directly into Canvas from Kami.

To turn in the file, the student can click the SUBMIT button in the top-right corner. This will force save the student's annotations and turn in the assignment into Canvas.

If the student needs to restore lost annotations they can do so by clicking the menu button (three lines), then scroll down to "Restore Annotations."

Students can also directly use the Kami chrome extension and download their annotated work. They must first see the Kami chrome extension on their browser bar. If not, click puzzle piece and then locate the Kami extension. Click the "pin" to illuminate and pin the extension to the bar.
