Sophia Schafer-Wharton is a visual artist, working across mediums with an emphasis in collage, illustration, and a particular fascination with found objects. She was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area, but is now based in Pasadena, California. Drawing inspiration from her personal experiences and her deep connection to the natural world, Sophia’s work is a reflection of her constant exploration of the human experience and our relationship with our surroundings. Through her diverse materials and forms, she begins to deconstruct binaries in our world by recognizing the coexistence of opposites via environmental, place, and identity based lenses.
