9th Grade Summer Reading

Summer Assignment

ALL students are expected to read at least one book over the summer.

TO DO: English teachers will expect you have completed this assignment when you show up in August.

Click on "Explore the Books" to look at some suggestions from M-A's English department.

Ways you can get your book

Check out the book

If you are in the Compass program this summer, during your session with Mrs. B-T, let her know which book you would like to check out and she will get it to you.

If you were not able to attend the summer meeting with Mrs. B-T:

Watch this video to  learn how to put your book on hold. Our catalog can be found here. (Some books as noted on the Explore the Books page may have additional copies in the text room)

Pick up times may vary during the summer, check the library website for open hours.

Make sure to check if the book is "in" to be able to put on hold. Email Mrs. B-T if your book is not available cburton@seq.org

East Palo Alto on University @ Bay

Redwood City Middlefield @ Main

Menlo Park Alma @ Ravenswood

Atherton Dinkelspiel @ Fair Oaks

Check your public library

Go to the Peninsula Library System catalog to find out if your local public library has your book. They may also have audio & e-versions of these books.

The video to the left explains how to get a public library card. It is easy and free!

Go to Kepler's

Kepler's book store is close to M-A and usually has a section set up for M-A's summer reading. It also gives you the chance to shop locally!
