Seed Exchange of Central Arizona (SEoCA)is a 501c3 with a mission to support food security for the community of South Phoenix, Arizona. During the height of the pandemic, it became painfully obvious the community of South Phoenix was disproportionately impacted by the bare shelves at stores and limited access to fresh produce. SEoCA was founded to help provided long term solutions to food insecurity, one seed at a time. This work is done through the community exchange of food seed, providing grow kits and education to group homes, advocacy, and community education related to the life changing impact of food security.
We partner with a community of gardeners and seed savers through quarterly seed exchange events at local farmer's markets. We do not maintain a seed library at this time.
We know food is not just about feeding our bodies. We also know growing our food is not just for farmers. During our four weeks together we will explore balanced self-care, mental health, and nutrition. We will discuss personal growth as we learn to grow our own food.
This free program is offered to group homes only at this time.
