Getting a Learner's Permit
Before 18 years of age:
Must be between the ages of 15½ and 18.
If you are 15 ½ – 17 ½ years old, you will need to provide proof that you:
Completed driver education (certificate of completion of driver education) or are enrolled and participating in an approved integrated driver education/driver training (DE/DT) program (certificate of enrollment in an integrated [classroom] driver education and driver training program).
Complete the application form DL 44. Must be the original form with your parents' or guardians' signatures.
Go to DMV (if you can, make an appointment)
Bring the required forms:
Social security card (original)
Birth Certificate (original)
School ID with your picture, your name, and birthdate
Driver’s ed certificate of completion
Completed form DL44 with parent signature
$33 for the ID
Submit all of your documents and forms
Give a thumb print.
Have your picture taken.
Pay a $33 application fee.
Pass a vision exam.
Pass a traffic laws and sign test.

Schedule and Pass the driving test
You are allowed to retake the driving test 3 times
