The Spanish Club is composed of students with various backgrounds and ages, ranging from Freshman to Master Program students. By joining the Spanish Club, you will be inspired to learn the vast amount of culture that the Spanish language holds.
How? This month students in the club will be visiting Ponchatoula Library and helping in their program to teach students, kids, and the public in the local community about Hispanic Heritage. They will also decorate the Southeastern library for Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), which is an important part of spreading the Spanish culture here on campus. Students and faculty will be invited to put pictures of their loved ones who passed away in memory of them for the Day of the Dead.
In November, some members of the club will venture to Texas for a conference to deepen their understanding of the language. In the spring, some members will travel to Puerto Rico to participate in and learn about their culture. Lastly, students can earn credit while studying abroad for a month in Spain. The club also participates in the Homecoming parade and other campus activities. Joining the Spanish club will deepen your understanding of the importance of the Spanish language and culture, and the impact it has on them and the community.
