2) Research the different BBC radio stations. Sort them into the two columns of the table depending on whether they are music based or talk based stations and add information about them to page 4.

Lesson 2: Soap operas

1) Watch an Episode of Emmerdale (a rural television soap, set in Yorkshire and shown on ITV TV and the ITV Hub). Make notes on page 16 of the booklet

2) Listen to an episode of 'The Archers'. Add notes to the table

3) Write a comparison of the two shows . Apart from one being on radio and one on TV, what are the main differences are there? What similarities are there that prove that these both below to the soap opera genre?

1) Watch the videos and discuss the production of 'The Archers' and other radio drama

2) Use the scripts from 'The Archers' and ipads to have a go at recording your own episode

Lesson 5: The Archers' audience

1) Look at pages 22. Listen to an episode of the Archers and make notes on how the show might appeal to that core demographic

2) Complete the activities on pages 23 and 24 of the booklet.
