Service Project Considerations

These projects shall have the following characteristics: fulfill a need within the school or community; have the support of the administration and the faculty; be appropriate and educationally defensible; be well planned, organized, and executed. Each member shall have the responsibility for choosing and participating in an individual service project that reflects their particular talents and interests. This is in addition to the chapter projects to which all members contribute.

Projects to Consider

Animal Shelter Project
- Visit the animal shelter and help clean up cages, walk and pet the animals.
Kindergarten Partners
- Read stories to the kindergartners at the nearby elementary school.
Adopt A Park
- Fix up and clean a park.
Thank You Soldiers
- Create and send thank you notes to soldiers.
Adopt A Teacher
- Pick a teacher monthly to acknowledge his/her contributions to the school and celebrate them.
Locker Notes
- Send words of encouragement before competitions for students.
Recycle Project
- Collect leftover food and create a campus compost.
