Reading: We are using this week to review some skills. We are going to compare/contrast two selections about Flood Zones. We will read a comic style selection that presents facts of gravity, inertia, acceleration, friction, force, and motion. In cooperative groups, we will do a gallery walk activity. Finally, we will read a fairy tale and a fable to review literary elements and problem/solution structure.
English: This week, we will finish our personal narrative about our OUCH moment. This is being done at school, because I want to build skills of rough drafting followed by editing. Now that we worked on imagery in reading, I hope our selections have vivid words in chronological order with a topic sentence. On Friday, we will write the fourth page of the text for the books we are authoring. We are off to a great start.
Social Studies: This week, we will continue Chapter 2. It has four Lessons. I hope to review Lesson 1 and read Lesson 2. This chapter is about the regions of our state and their characteristics. Our children will need to label the 5 regions for the Chapter 2 test. See page 17. Remember the book is on my website and Google Classroom.
Spelling: We will be working with words with prefixes, over-,re-, pre-, sub-, super-, il-, and im-. I gave them homework to be completed by Wednesday, October 8th. Room 207 will have their test on Thursday, October 9th,(Aiden is giving it) but room 208 will be on Friday, October 10th.(Rosie is giving it).PLEASE BE AWARE- I ALSO SAY THE WORDS AND USE THEM IN A SENTENCE.
