Reading: Our stories this week center around the science of food. We will debate the pros and cons of the growing of organic foods. We will build vocabulary and skills that are involved in reading diagrams and subtitles.
English: Comparing and Contrasting will be the topic for the next two weeks. We will introduce the Venn Diagram and read several selections that compare and contrast. We will learn the technique of writing similiarities and differences. There will be several tasks that the children will be graded upon. They will need to brainstorm several ideas to compare and contrast and choose one. They will also need to show me their ability to write likeness and difference sentences.
Social Studies: We will learn this week about the writing of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. It is Lesson 21 and we will take notes on these historical events.
Spelling: Our Spelling work will be due on Wednesday the day after we return. These words have r controlled vowel sounds spelled with ar, er, and or. The test will be April 9th for 207 and April 10th for 208.
