7th and 8th Grade:
Students will explore algebraic expressions, equations, and inequalities. Building upon this knowledge, students will be able to solve step-by-step equations and inequalities, while also exploring factors, polynomials, exponents, and much more! We will also examine relations and determine what qualifiers are needed for a relation to be considered a function. While both classes will graph and solve linear equations, eighth grade will further apply that knowledge to solving systems of linear equations. Among others, these topics will allow students to think algebraically and prepare them for their high school math courses.
6th Grade:
Students will be introduced to various representations of numbers. For example, we will work with integers, decimals, fractions, factors and much more! This course is designed to prepare students for their upcoming Pre-Algebra and Algebra courses. As a result, we will evaluate, write and solve algebraic expressions, while also exploring rates and proportions.
