Spelling: plain, painted, grain, explain, tray, fake, same, state, ladies, they, obey, radio, eight, sleigh, weigh
Students will need to write 2 sentences using whatever spelling word they would like. Each sentence is worth 4 points.
Pretest every Monday, 2x each will be assigned Tuesdays (worth 5 points), Thursday will be game day, Test will be on Friday. There will be 15 words. Please study the words throughout the week - don't wait until Thursday night! The students will be given a spelling packet to help learn the words.

Weeky Story: Wolf
Comprehension Skill: context clues and antonyms
Vocabulary: ached - hurt, concentrate - pay close attention, educated - knowledge, effort - energy to do something, satisfied - pleased, improved - better, discovery - finding something for the first time, inspired - encouraged to do something
Accelerated Reader - AR - The students are required to read two books the first quarter and three books the 2-4 quarters. Points will be given based on the score they receive on the online test. The tests are worth 10 points. Students can read and take a test on another in order to improve their grade.
A weekly test will be given on Friday - The students will be tested on the vocabulary, and comprehension skills that were taught throughout the week. We will be reading the weekly story in class. Please reread it at least once at home.
Math: Chpt. 2 - Addition - using addition properties, exploring addition patterns, estimating sums, adding with partial sum, and adding with regrouping once and twice will be taught in this chapter. We will also add with three or more addends, and work on word problems

Making Change is a website that has a game that will help with this skill. Have fun! You can also practice using IXL website . Speaking of IXL - students have passwords in their planner. Please use this site every week. Student are required to do at least 20 minutes a week.
Please continue to practice addition and subtraction facts. They should not be using their fingers to add or subtract. Flash cards and computer games are great ways to practice.
The students will have a homework page to complete almost every night. They will be receiving homework points so it needs to be completed and turned in on time. There will also be quizzes and a final test for each chapter.
Simple Solutions tests will be on Thursdays. The students will have a lesson to complete every night except for Thursday. If you would like to avoid homework on the weekends - you can do the lesson on Thursday night instead of Friday.
English: Unit 1 - Sentences, Punctuation, Capitalization, Subjects and Predicates will be taught in this unit. We will be making compound sentences and fixing run-ons.
Religion: Chapter 2 - Sacraments of Christian Initiation - Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist will be discussed and taught in this chapter.
The test will be given at the end of each chapter. A study guide will be given to help study for the test. I will also be grading classwork and homework.
Social Studies - Chapter 1 - land and water, weather and climate, plants and animals, and using earth's resources will be taught in thei chapter
I teach both 205 and 206. I see the students twice a week.
A test will be given after each Chapter. I will also give participation points and class work points.
