REGISTRATION FOR PRESCHOOL SCREENING OPENS JANUARY 5th, 2026
If you are interested in having your preschool-aged child screened for a potential placement in the upcoming 2026-2027 school year, or if you have concerns with your child's development, please follow this process:
1. Register your child. Registration information and required documents can be accessed from the Seekonk Public Schools’ website, or just follow this link New Student Registration. You may contact either Martin or Aitken elementary schools from 10 am until 2 pm on school days with registration questions. Note: If your child is chosen in the lottery or requires further assessment after screenings, you will be required to complete district residency documentation, also available on our website.
2. Respond to the Sign-Up link to reserve your child’s screening appointment. The link will be sent to you within a week of receipt of completed registration.
Screenings are scheduled during the week of March 16-20, 2026, and take approximately one half hour. Children will be screened across developmental (visual motor, adaptive, language and cognition, gross motor skills), social-emotional (self-regulation, communication, autonomy, affect, interaction), and speech (articulation) skill areas.

The Seekonk Integrated Preschool Program is a district-wide program located at Aitken Elementary School. Preschool participation/peer partner slots are offered through a lottery system each spring following preschool screenings. Students must be registered for school and residency documentation completed prior to joining the preschool screenings held in March of each school year. Registration opens January 1st. Click this NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION link to be taken to the registration page.
The purpose of the Seekonk Integrated Preschool Program is to provide three and four year-old children with and without disabilities, with educational programming and peer experiences to promote social-emotional and creative growth, while supporting development of self-regulation and academic readiness skills. Our preschool program promotes independence across school, home, and community environments in preparation for successful transition into a kindergarten curriculum. Classes are comprised of students from our Seekonk community with and without Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
