Talking to Your Child about Equality and Diversity

Ms. Bouchard shared some powerful passages from Dr. Martin Luther King during her morning announcements on June 3rd. Dr. Drolet also sent a letter home to families “ Let's teach our kids that it is not right to use violence as a means to seek out justice or facilitate change. Let's continue to teach our kids to speak up when something is not right, advocate for changes in policies and practices that seem unfair, and do so with compassion and peace toward all human beings.” We would like to share with parents some useful information website for engaging in self-reflection, family conversations, and/or discourse from The Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture recently launched a portal called Talking About Race that's designed to help steer conversations about racism, racial identity, and the way these forces shape every aspect of society.
