Olivia's EPIC Page ^-.-^

Do you use Technology? Well I do, Hi! I'm Olivia, and I'm a part of the Aitken Elementary School Technology Team. I love working on the Chromebooks and using Accelerated Reader. I love using Google Docs and I can type 4 pages on the computer, in 2 days! I do believe I am a fast typer, so I LOVE anything that has to do with typing! <3 I LOVE PS4's and I love the game on it, Star Wars Battlefront, it is probably my favorite piece of technology other than an Apple computer! ^.^ (Down below are the things I understand, and can show you how to use! =) The reason I picked the iPhone 8 plus background was because I actually have the "Gold mixed with Rose Gold" color and I am very grateful that I am able to have it! (The one on the right is the one I have)

Google: Many people know how to use Google, but if you are on another page and would like to save it, there should either be a plus sign in the top right corner of your screen, depending on the computer you are using. If you have a computer that has a little slanted rectangle shape (Parallelogram) near a tab, click that but if you have the plus sign, it is also safe to use that as well. Then once you are at another tab, you have done it you saved your other page.

Google Classroom: Google Classroom is an online tool that helps YOUR teacher. He or she can send you assignments, research, or a study packet maybe for a test coming up. Well, how do I get there? It's Easy! All you have to do is go to your "Waffle" in the corner and you will see a green square with a yellow border and a few white figures, that's Google Classroom! (Make sure to click the WHITE WORDS that are UNDERLINED)

  • Google Drive: Google Drive is a nice tool to store, memories, you can create folders. Family Members, friends, teachers or really anybody can share anything with you, you can also share any document with anybody you want! To get to Google Drive, yet again you have to click the little "Waffle" in the top right corner of your screen, and the little green yellow and blue recycle looking symbol will come up. Click on that symbol, and enjoy, Google Drive. *.* Look down below for the example! :D
  • Google Docs: The bright blue box, that looks like a folding piece of paper, is actually, Google Docs! In Google Docs you can type really anything you want! In order to use Google Docs, there is a square in the top right corner of your screen. It looks like a little "waffle." If you click that, you will find the same photo, as you see here, once you click that piece of blue folding paper, you may now click the sheet that says blank with a + sign on it and begin your document! Enjoy Google Docs! *.* (You click the plus sign on the left!) ;)

Screencastify records what you do on your computer. So if I had Screencastify on right now, it would be recording what I am doing; it does not show your face. (Only if you allow it to) Screencastify is not public, meaning no one can see it but you unless you post it. Your choice is are you going to post it? Or are you not? You must ask permission before getting screencastify!

Are you researching for a topic and not sure what websites you can trust? Well, you have come to the right page! I can show you how to tell if a website is safe our not, with a few easy tips! ^.^ Down below are some examples, the first one is to check, is the website you are using, secure? If it is, your trust starts to wrap around the website more tightly, now the second step. Or, you could call the "Secure Check" the second step, however you want. Look at the Green link under the Purple letters, it has "https://" That's also how you can trust a website, but be careful not to be fooled! Some websites have really good detail and can fake you! NASA, is mostly a website you can trust seeing they are all about Space, if Space is your topic. I hope this helped you tell the difference between a REAL website, and a FAKE website! Bye for now, see you next time! =)

Question: What kind of use of technology do you have or want? :)
