The Westside Drum-Circle, started on October, 20th, 2021 through the advocacy of Roots Riddim, the legendary two man crew, and Las Semillas, a mutual aid network in Pine Hills, Florida. Preconceived on June 6th, 2021, during the very first Westside Picnic!
One and a half years later we have cultivated a culture within our culture together, to make something unique and undeniable that was born in thee streets of Pine Hills. A full-moon drum-circle centered in a black neighborhood, connected to ancestral practices, spoken word, Afrobeats and the support of local vendors.
Currently one of a kind.
We're temporarily putting our monthly Full Moon Drumcircle on hold, but in the meanwhile we want to plant more seeds for the future of this endeavor. We want to keep being the people with the absolute temerity to step out and represent the culture-- join us in our venture to spread the culture, join the Westside Drumcircle, get trained and become an official member!
We believe in the power of our indigenous cultures
We believe in the power of supporting our local community.
We are firm in the power of our African heritage and history there-in.
