Families can now explore course-specific resources designed to bring clarity and transparency to learning at Smith-Cotton High School. For each course, you’ll find a Course-at-a-Glance document outlining the units within the course, along with the corresponding proficiency scales for every unit.
A proficiency scale clearly communicates your student’s level of learning within a specific topic. Each scale describes four levels of a learning progression: foundational knowledge and skills at Level 2, the expected Target Learning Outcome at Level 3, and an extension of learning at Level 4. These scales help you understand exactly what your student is working toward, how their progress is measured, and the path they can take to reach—and go beyond—proficiency.
