All students and their families should be in touch with one or more school staff members at least once a week. If a student has not or cannot communicate with at least one school staff member, please email an administrator at the student's school immediately.

School staff will begin directing students at all grade levels and in each middle and high school course with weekly assignments beginning Monday, March 30. This site, SEBRSD's Remote Learning Website, will be updated weekly to list students' specific school assigned learning opportunities for each week. Many of these remote learning opportunities can be accomplished with minimal or no technology access. Pleae take advantage of as many learning opportunities a week as possible and share your learning with school staff and other students.
If your teachers have them setup for you, you can find Google classrooms here.
In addition to the weekly guided assignments, the following are some quick guidelines for continuing to learn and grow as a scholar during these weeks of school disruption. Many general resources are websites or other online tools that can be accessed from computers, mobile phones, tablets, online gaming systems (Xbox, Nintendo, ... etc). For some sites you will need your username and password to log in and use the resources, others are freely accessible to everyone.

Write poems
Create a comic strip or graphic novel
Write a letter to someone about this experience or about what you are reading
MATH: While school is not in session, students should be completing math activities for at least 60 minutes a day. This does not have to be all at once. It can be cumulative throughout the course of each day. Math activities should include our district curriculum resources, math mind games, board games, and puzzles.

CREATE: Make something that reflects something you read, something you are learning, or about your experience during the school closure. This could be a craft, art, a webpage, a video, music, or anything you can think of that shares what you are learning and thinking about.
In additional to this additional list of resources the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is working with public broadcaster WGBH and its partner station WGBY to provide other resources.
Educators have free access to PBS LearningMedia and the stations’ newly created online distance learning center. In recognition of the fact that not every student has a computer and internet access, and in addition to existing programming, WGBH plans to expand its educational broadcasting from noon to 5:00 p.m. weekdays on the WORLD Channel. The WORLD Channel is a 24/7 WGBH channel that offers news and documentaries and which is now shifting some of its schedule to meet this urgent need. (More information on where to find the WORLD Channel on WGBH and WGBY is available online.
Using the resources on this website, we would like every student in the Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School District to spend 2-4 hours every day growing as a learner and scholar.
IMPORTANT: Keep an eye on the school district’s webpage and social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) accounts as well as our individual school pages and accounts for more specific instructional activities for each grade level - coming soon.
Learning from Home: Resources for Remote Learning During Our School Closure is a culmination of a great deal of work on the part of our district in an effort to support you as parents/families - in providing learning opportunities - during the closure of our schools. Many more resources will be added in the days to come. So, please check back often for updates as we make improvements to this page. And as always, thank you for your continued support and partnership of the Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School District!
