Penn HCI Reading Group on AI Policy

Reading Group Schedule (Fall 2025)

The AI Policy reading group is hosted inside the Penn HCI lab. We will meet bi-weekly in the lab control room on Fridays from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm starting October 17, 2025.

The theme of this semester's readings is "Co-Creation and Co-Engagement: Looking beyond CS, AI, and HCI". We will focus on studies and reports that have engaged affected communities in evaluating and critiquing policies and programs outside of typical AI-related fields, as well as co-created policies that work with, not against, community wants and needs. The goal is to use the insights from these readings to discuss their potential for reforming AI policy in different contexts using community perspectives.
