Commissioning a New Work

Commissioning a new work for your ensemble or for yourself can be an incredibly rewarding experience. Sean will take into account the occasion, the musical strengths of the commissioning party, and suggestions for mood and/or text. Sometimes the commissioning party will have requests for the new work, and sometimes they will leave it all up to the composer - Sean can work with either scenario.

The cost is based on several factors - the approximate length of the piece, the number of parts (voices or instruments), and the budget of the commissioning party. Sean will start with a suggested per-minute fee, but he is always willing to negotiate based on the available resources.

If a text requested by the commissioning party is still under copyright, there may be a fee associated with this cost - this will be over and above the commission amount.
