Dear Colleagues

Thank you for re-registering for the Project-based Learning (PBL) course. Interest in the course from across the region has been enormous, we have had over a thousand participants re-register for this course. Regretfully, we have had to select on a ‘first come first serve’ basis as mentioned in the original course publicity poster.

Unfortunately, we have had to restrict each SEAMEO country to eight PLC teams as the course facilitators are going to be providing support for PLCs as they develop their Project-based Learning experiences. We only have a small team of facilitators, and, thus, must restrict the number of PLCs from each country. It has been an extremely difficult decision for us to make because we do not want to disappoint fellow colleagues.

We have sent emails to the first 8 from each country to inform them that they have been accepted onto the course, and that we will expect that they will attend all seven webinars; complete all pre-webinar tasks; develop and implement a PBL; and enter all participating students for the STEM Project Competition. On completion of all tasks they will receive a SEAMEO STEM-ED certificate. We have also asked them to complete the first pre-webinar task before the first webinar on Saturday 15 October.

Regretfully we have had to send emails to others to inform them that we were not able to include them on the course this time. Please accept our most sincere apologies. We are so sorry we could not include everyone because the course has been so popular. We hope to run the course again in the future, and those not accepted on the course this time will have priority.

Those not accepted will have access to the website so that they can access all the webinar video recordings, documents and learning resources.

Reconfirmation for Project-Based Learning (PBL) Course

Thank you for your interest in attending the orientation for the PBL course organized on 8 October 2022. Before attending the webinar programme, we would appreciate completion of this confirmation form for our reference and information. *Please note that the webinars and all activities will be conducted in English

Eligible Participants:

· For teachers involved in teaching STEM subjects, administrators, university instructors, and supervisors in Southeast Asia only

· 5 school/educator teams per country (first come, first served) will receive PLC support as they develop their PBLs. Other participants will still be able to attend the full webinar programme and work towards achieving certification, but will only receive support in the development of their PBLs through periodic clinic sessions

***Certification Requirements

Upon completion of all the following requirements, participants will be awarded a SEAMEO Regional Centre for STEM Education certificate:

· Attend all webinars and complete webinar exit tickets

· Complete all pre-webinar tasks

· Develop a STEM PBL experience

· Implement the PBL experience

· Enter all the student projects for the Southeast Asia (SEA) STEM Fair and Expo - STEM Project Competition

· Share reflections on implementing the PBL
