Curriculum
Sealy ISD has a locally developed Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum. Our curriculum was written with the assistance of teachers, instructional coaches, and curriculum specialists. The SISD Curriculum is aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and state assessments. The SISD Curriculum Documents outline the learning goals and objectives SISD students are expected to achieve and provides resources for instruction. The SISD Curriculum provides teachers with planning documents that:
Ensure equal opportunities for all students to learn the curriculum
Reduce gaps and unproductive redundancies in the curriculum
Serve as a basis for district curriculum-based assessments
Focus teacher planning time on instruction
SISD Curriculum Documents Include:
Year-At-A-Glance Maps- provide information on required units of instruction at a summary level
Unit Plans- provide unit details required for planning daily instruction, organized by grading period and estimation of approximate timelines
Unit Plans include Language of Instruction- identifies key academic terminology teachers use when working with students
Curriculum-Based Assessments for Learning – locally developed by a vertical team of instructional and curriculum specialists provided to campuses
Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills can be found here.
In an effort to help you see our academic goals for the year, we have created a Year at a Glance or YAG for our core content curricular areas. Below you will find the YAGs for each grade level and subject.
