Retro Navy Comics

Especially during World War II, the subject and muse for a number of early comic book storylines and authors was war. Some more graphic than others. Few were accurate, and most were wildly exaggerated. Others had some very problematic and dare we say "prejudicial" portrayals of our "enemies" at the time. Once superhero stories became much more popular and the last "Great War" ended, authors and artists abandoned war as a subject.
