Paris Doan
Paris Doan is a 16 year old junior at Seabury Hall and this is her 3rd year being a part of TEDx. For Paris’s freshman and sophomore year, she was a volunteer working with the partners and sponsorships team and was inspired by the past TEDx team to take on the opportunity to organize this year’s event. Her cousin Jasmine Doan was also the founder of TEDx at Seabury Hall and she aspires to continue her legacy. She also has a passion for medicine and working with children and has fueled that passion by being involved with HOSA, interning with her Pediatrician, and volunteering at the Lahaina Boys and Girls Club. Her favorite part about being a part of TEDx is being able to work alongside like-minded individuals that all have the same goal, which is to put on an event that allows students to speak about topics that they are truly passionate about on a global stage.
Ginger Thomas
Ginger Thomas is a senior at Seabury Hall and joined TEDx in 2020 as a speaker. Due to COVID-19 the show was postponed to 2021, Ginger spoke last year about the Corruption of The Education System. She wanted to continue with the experience of TEDx while taking on a new position. You can imagine that going from a two year timeline for organizing TEDx to a one year timeline creates a pretty tight schedule so Ginger wanted to give a big shout out to all the speakers, volunteers, and faculty participating in several different realms. TEDx Youth is really a great definition of a safe space where not only students get to speak their mind but it evokes conversation amongst an audience. Although the writing process is also quite independent, getting to work alongside several young minds and help our speakers share their enthusiasm on various topics is Ginger’s overall goal in this club.
