We are highly entangled within layers of technology. These layers form our everyday life. We consume, experience and perceive through them. The intersection of technology, matter, culture and life and embedded processes which emerge are the main interests of this course. These contexts critically open up previously impossible opportunities for design, informing how built form and spaces are made and how their making and material composition may perform in harmony with the ecosystems they inhabit. The studio is based on these ideas and would focus on areas of making form and space.
The interest of the course is in engaging with emerging material-digital conditions of inhabitation, which are generated within the techno-digital contexts. It intends to develop new spatial diagrams and configurations within these contexts. These contexts manifest themselves in a form of simulated realities and strategies of informing matter and its cultures. The course also intends to discuss the role of the ‘process’ in making and inhabiting space and form. The projects in the studio emerge in the intersection of materials and technologies in the spatial context.
