About The Teacher



Hello! My name is Sarah Nutting, and I am so excited to have your child in my class. I look forward to working with you and your family throughout the year. This is my fifth year teaching, but I have been a Warhawk my whole life. I went to preschool in the very same room I teach in now!

Schooling:

I graduated from Simpson College in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. I have endorsements in early childhood, reading, special education, and early childhood special education. I am so happy to be doing what I love.



Hobbies:

When I am not working with kids I enjoy reading, going for walks, baking, crafting, gardening, and spending time with my family and friends. I love being active and cheering for my favorite sports teams, which include the Iowa State Cyclones, St. Louis Cardinals, and Kansas City Chiefs.


Fun Facts:

1.    I am the 3rd generation Nutting to teach for the Milo Primary building, following my mother (Title 1 Reading), and late paternal grandmother (3rd grade).

2.    I have 2 older brothers that are twins.

3.    I love going shopping and thrifting. Online just doesn’t cut it!

4.    I have traveled to Prague, Amsterdam, Denmark, and Sweden.

5.    I love pretty much all types of music, and I am constantly singing.


Shannon Hommer

I have been an Early Childhood classroom associate for 15 years now. I recieved my CDA (Child Development Associate) certification from DMACC. Before that I was an associate in the high school, and before that an account specialist at Bank of the West. I enjoy working with and helping all students, especially the preschool age. I am happy to be here!
