Reading

Here’s a 2 minute video that explains the pre-reading strategy, Tea Party, and how to use it. You can even have students watch this video to learn about the Tea Party Protocol and have them do it in class.

Here’s a 5 minute video in which an ELA teacher uses a “silent tea party” to structure collaboration. She uses this activity to introduce a book, but it could easily work with non-fiction or primary source documents. The Teaching Channel, is a great resource for videos of quality instruction in action.
