Grade Level Math to Honors
The bridge program covers specific skills identified within IXL. These courses are optional but strongly encouraged for future success. As there is no formal instruction or live classroom time, students will work independently. If they need assistance, they can access IXL’s built-in support materials directly within the platform.
SDUHSD students use the Clever single sign-on to access IXL.
Students will start on my.sduhsd.net.
Select the Clever tile on the left side menu
Click "sign in with Google"
Sign in the same way they do for their district email
Select the IXL tile.
The IXL SmartScore measure of how well a student understands a skill.
The SmartScore starts at 0.
As the student answers questions correctly, the SmartScore increases. If a question is answered incorrectly, the score decreases.
The SmartScore is not just based on the percentage of questions correct. It is calculated using many factors, including the number of questions completed, question difficulty, and consistency, and offers superior accuracy in assessing student achievement.
Students are encouraged to earn a SmartScore of at least 80 on each skill.
Above the problem, you will see "Learn with an example". This will give you a worked out example with an explanation.
Many skills in IXL also have a video explaining how to do similar problems.
If you feel that you are not quite ready to practice a skill, you will find links to prerequisite skills. These skills will help prepare you to come back to the original skill after some additional practice. Sometimes there will also be a "Lesson" available in the "Work it out" section below the problem you are working on.
If you answer a question and do not get it correct, be sure to scroll down to see an explanation of how to correctly solve the problem before moving on to the next questions.
