"Let's Talk About Anxiety"
SDA has been tracking our students' anxiety levels for five years through our Senior Exit Survey. In 2013, 27% of our seniors reported having dealt with anxiety in high school. Five years later, the rate has increased to over 40%.
Anxiety is the most common mental health disorder in the United States with 38% of teen girls and 26% of teen boys being impacted. To address this concern, SDA Counselor Ann Nebolon conducted a student survey this year which dove deeper into how anxiety is affecting SDA's students.
During this webinar, you'll learn how our students' perceptions about what contributes to their anxiety compares with current research on contributing factors. The juxtaposition is very interesting. Most importantly, we talk about what messages are helpful when talking to our children about anxiety and what isn't helpful.
