Class Overview
Mrs. Bree's class is one of the four COAST classrooms at the Requeza Education Center through SDUHSD. COAST is an adult transition program focusing on Continuing Education/Training, Employment, Independent Living, and Social Skills. Our program includes community-based instruction (CBI) and vocational skills training at a variety of local worksites through the Workability program. Students are eligible to attend COAST if they receive special education services, did not receive a high school diploma (on track for Certificate of Completion), and are under the age of 22. COAST focuses on preparing students for life after school with an emphasis on developing independence and community involvement.
About me
My name is Bree and I am so excited to be your teacher! I have been teaching since 2017 and have been in our district teaching at COAST since 2019. Before becoming a part of the COAST family, I taught at a non-public school. Teaching Transition is truly my passion and there is no better place to teach than at COAST! My number one value is building relationships with families and this includess open communication!
I have a bachelor's degree in Children's Services from CSUSM. I have teaching credentials in both mild-mod and mod-severe special education from PLNU, and a Master's in Special Education from UTRGV.
I have been married to my wonderful husband since 2015. We have two dogs, Eevee and Lili, and two cats, Mew and Lux. Fun fact: All of our pets are named after Pokemon.
When I am not at work my hobbies include traveling, road trips, walking on the beach or through the aisles of target. My favorite places to eat at are Bahn Thai in University Heights, Nectarine Grove in Leucadia, and anywhere that has gluten and dairy free treats!
