About Me

Hi everyone! I wanted to take a minute to introduce the person behind the copy of many emails you will be receiving. I am thrilled to have your student in my class this year. Once a student, always a student.

My husband and I recently moved from Dallas, Texas to be closer to family (and Board and Brew), and I am so excited to be joining the Falcon family this year. In Texas, I taught high school journalism and audio/visual production, as well as advised the nationally-recognized online newspaper and broadcast programs. I have a true passion for teaching students how to be informed and observant consumers of information in today’s world, which is why I switched careers a few years ago, and received my Master’s in Education from Southern Methodist University. Prior to receiving my Master’s in Education, I worked in the journalism and public relations field after graduating from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Journalism (M-I-Z!).

While this year may come with uncertainty as your students get back into the swing of a full year in person, know that I hope to make my class a constant and comfortable place for your students. Whether you are a Torrey Pines High School veteran parent, or are sending your first student to TPHS, please know you can always contact me if any questions arise.
