Hello! Welcome to Earl Warren Middle School! This is my 9th year at EWMS and I anticipate that it will be filled with new experiences!
This is my 25th year of teaching. I am a graduate of the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho where I received a BS in Secondary English Education. I also received my Masters in Educational Administration through United States International University.
I have been fortunate to work throughout San Diego and Riverside Counties and have had countless adventures in teaching. I have worked for the San Diego Unified School District where I taught 8th grade English at Kroc Middle School and 9th, 10th, and 12th grade English at Patrick Henry High School. I also taught 9th and 10th grade English at Great Oak High School in Temecula where I truly honed my teaching skills, focusing on standards based grading and assessment. I spent 5 years at Canyon Crest Academy teaching 9th grade English, Speech & Debate and Leadership.
I am an Oregon native but love California and have called it home since I started teaching. How can you beat the weather and the close proximity to the beach, mountains, and desert?
I am married to my wonderful husband Alin (it'll be 28 years in November). We share our home with our rambunctious dog Peanut (a chihuahua rescue), a tank full of fish, a coop full of chickens, and four goats (Annie, Helga, Thor, and Monzo). I love playing spades with my friends, attending Broadway shows, gardening in my yard (that just happens to be a little over 2 1/2 acres - YIKES!), singing karaoke, and exploring the dunes on my quad. I also LOVE traveling. My adventures have taken me to Italy, England, France, Greece, Croatia, Holland, Mexico, and Alaska (along with numerous states). I'm excited to add to these locations each summer!
I can't wait to meet all of the great students at Earl Warren! I know it'll be a great year filled with adventure!
