1. Log into Schoology
2. Select a course
3. Select Grade Setup from the menu on the left.
4. If you do not have info in the purple box, click on add in the upper right hand corner
HS Categories: Habits of Learning/Formative/Summative
MS Categories: Graded Practice/Habits of a Student/Mastery
4a. Type in the category name, select your desired setting for "Calculated by", add the weight for the category, then press save changes.Â
Percent: The overall grade is calculated by taking an average of the percentages scored for each item, regardless of the total maximum points for each item.
Total points: Overall grade is calculated by taking a sum of points earned divided by the sum of possible points and then multiplied by 100.
4b. Repeat for each of your categories
4c. When you complete all three categories, select Save Changes at the bottom.
5. Now click on copy settings (Do not copy settings if you have already created categories in other courses)
6. Make sure that categories is checked
7. Check classes to copy those weights and categories to that you created previously
8. Press copy
9. Click on PowerSchool app link on the bottom left hand side
10. Click on configuration in the upper middle
11. Connect the Schoology categories to the set PowerSchool Categories by using the drop down
12. Make sure all course categories are the same for all three categories, shown below
13. Press Save Changes!
You should be all set!
