About Mrs. O'Donnell
I graduated from Saint Joseph's University with a degree in Elementary Education in 2004. The Hawk Will Never Die!
After graduating college, I did a summer internship in Puerto Rico for NASA, writing curriculum for k-1st graders.
I love all sports, but especially the Phillies. During my first two years of teaching I worked as a game day staff member for the Phillies and I miss having the best view in the house.
I began my teaching career in the School District of Philadelphia, teaching First, Second and Third Grade while pursuing my Masters Degree in Reading at Gwynedd Mercy University in 2010.
I have a passion for reading! I worked part time for Upper Darby School District as a Title 1 Reading Interventionalist for two years before having my 3rd son. I then became a long term substitute in 5th Grade in 2018 and quickly fell in love with Erdenheim Elementary and this grade.
I am proud to say that my boys are Spartans, too! ( a Freshman, a 7th Grader, and a 2nd Grader!) When I am not at school with your kiddos, I would most likely be spending time with my husband Kevin and 3 boys, Declan (14), Owen (12) and Gavin (7).
It is such an honor to be able to work alongside you to create the best 5th grade year possible for your student. In my classroom, I intend to create a space where every student can feel capable, successful, and most importantly, loved. Creating and maintaining a strong classroom community is not a responsibility that I take lightly. I believe that through creating a space where your student feels supported and safe to make mistakes, that they can have a great and prosperous 5th grade year!
Teaching is something that I am so passionate about. Your student has potential to do AMAZING things and it's my privilege to guide them and help them navigate those things. Thank you so much for allowing me to be on this journey with them this year! Let's make it a great one!
I look forward to learning about your child and making this the #bestyearever!
