Students earn salaries for completing their classroom jobs. Each student will be paid between $10 and $25 bi-weekly. They also have the opportunity to earn bonuses. When students are observed being responsible, working hard, being kind, and playing fair, they may be awarded a hole punch on their hold punch card. For each hold punch they get an extra dollar added to their bi-weekly pay. Students can then use the money they earn for purchasing rewards in the classroom. Such as, lunch with Mr. Miller, extra recess, or a classroom popcorn and lemonade party.
In our classroom Market Days are taken very seriously, student make a plan for their market day and that plan must be approved by Mr. Miller. Once their plan is approved they will rent out space in the classroom to conduct their business. They can work as a partnership or individually.
