Founding lab director: Dr. Long Zhao
Dr. Long Zhao received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Eastern Washington University, Cheney, WA, USA, in 2012, an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Wichita State University, Wichita, KS, USA, in 2014, and a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington under the supervision of Dr. Wei-Jen Lee, Arlington, TX, USA, in summer 2020. In the Fall semester of 2020, he joined the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, where he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. His research interests include demand response, AMI data analytics, EV charging infrastructure integration, distributed energy resources (DERs), and arc fault protection. Dr. Zhao is currently the IEEE Black Hills IAS/PES Chapter Chair and associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications.
