Student parking is a privilege granted by the SDOC and SHS administration. Seneca Senior High School reserves the right to grant and revoke parking privileges as it deems necessary. Only students granted a parking privilege can park on the campus of Seneca Senior High School. Students granted this privilege may only park in their assigned parking spaces.

a. Early release, work release, athletics and similar activities will not have a bearing on whether a student receives a parking spot.
b. Parking spaces are limited and, therefore, meeting the minimum criteria to receive a parking space does not guarantee one.
c. Seneca Senior High will have a waiting list for students that meet eligibility requirements but do not have a parking space. The window for students to register to be placed on the waiting list will open soon after first semester parking decals are distributed and will close on or about the last day of first semester. The Seneca Senior High Parking Website will post the specific dates. You may apply to get on the waiting list by completing the form on the Seneca Senior High Parking website.
a. Except under unusual circumstances, Seneca Senior High will allocate spaces based on a first come first served rule.
b. Parking permits are distributed at registration and at specific dates that will be listed on Seneca Senior High’s parking website. Students should arrive on their designated date and time and failure to do so may result in loss of their parking privilege and spot. Please check the Seneca Senior High School web page for any updates.
In addition to meeting the aforementioned requirements, on the day you receive your parking privilege and tag you will need the following (note: valid implies current):
a. Copy of your valid SC driver’s license
b. Copy of the valid vehicle registration card for the car student will be driving
c. Copy of a valid proof of insurance
d. The actual vehicle you registered and intend to drive.
A parent/guardian may receive their child’s parking permit on the assigned day if they bring a copy of the student’s valid SC driver’s license, the actual car that the student will drive to school so that the tag can be affixed, current proof of insurance on the car the student will drive and its current vehicle registration.
Vehicles not properly registered or that are parked in any location other than the designated student parking area will be subject to being ticked, booted, towed at the owner’s expense or a combination of any of the three. Once a car is booted or ticketed, a $35.00 fine must be paid before the boot will be removed. Vehicles that are towed will be towed and stored at the owner’s expense and Seneca Senior High School and SDOC assume no responsibility or liability for the vehicle.
The Seneca Senior High Administration can grant and revoke parking privileges as it deems necessary. A few of the actions that can result in a revocation include, but are not limited to, the following:
a. Leaving campus or visiting your car (during school hours) without proper authorization may result in loss of parking privileges.
b. Violating Student Behavior Code of Conduct infractions or Student Code of Conduct infractions by passengers (drivers are responsible for the conduct of your passengers once they are in your vehicle).
c. Failing to meet the minimum GPA requirement. Students falling below the mandated Cumulative Weighted GPA minimum of 2.0 will forfeit their parking privileges and their space will be reassigned to a student on the waiting list.
d. Having excessive tardiness or absences. Students consistently tardy in the mornings will lose this privilege after excessive tardiness in a semester; and will lose parking privileges if they are absent ten or more times from a class during the school year (SY) without an approved excusal for those absences.

h. Removing or attempting to remove boots. Students caught removing or attempting to remove a “boot” will lose their current and future parking privileges and are subject to paying for any damage to the boot.
a. Parking tags will be distributed during registration. If you wait until after the above-mentioned dates, you will lose your assigned parking spot. Please check the Seneca Senior High School web page for any updates. You must have your parking permit affixed to your car to be able to park at school.
b. You must drive the car you have registered on the application in order to receive a parking permit.
Parking tags are placed inside the vehicle on the rear-view mirror, and driver’s-side of the rear windshield where it will be visible to administrators. These decals must be affixed to the rear windshield by a Seneca Senior High School staff or faculty member.
Parking stickers and privileges are not transferable and may not be given or sold to any other individual. No student is allowed to purchase a permit for another student or allow another student to use his/her parking permit under any circumstance; if so, disciplinary action and loss of parking privileges will result. If a student obtains a parking permit in any manner other than through the correct application process, the parking decal will be revoked for all parties involved for the remainder of the school year.
When any vehicle other than the one listed on your application is driven to school, the student must, upon arriving on campus and before they go to their first class, purchase a temporary parking permit from the front office. Temporary permits will only be issued to students who have an existing parking space and who drive an alternate vehicle on a short-term basis (up to 5 days for maintenance). Students will be charged $2.00 for each temporary permit.
Students who have an authorized handicap tag in their name are eligible to use a handicapped parking space provided the following requirements are met:

c. Students must remove the old tag from the previous vehicle, and bring it to the Seneca Senior High Parking Administrator along with the $20 payment. We will not issue extra tags for multiple cars in one family. (Note: This is due to previous issues with students transferring stickers illegally and to help us maintain security in the parking lot). Vehicles not properly registered will be ticket, booted, towed or a combination of the three and fined $35.00.
a. Parking fees are paid via online student payments (SCHOOLPAY).
b. Parking fines are paid in the main office.
a. First and foremost please check the Seneca Senior High Parking Website FAQ.
b. If the FAQ does not address your issue, please submit your question via the Seneca Senior High Parking Website.
No! Please submit an application after obtaining a valid South Carolina driver’s license. JUST REMEMBER, when a TAG is issued, you must HAVE a license (we have to receive a copy of it).
No, we do not issue early.
The safety certification instruction is mandatory and you are required to pass its test before you can apply for a parking tag.
My student has to work after school and cannot make it on time via the bus and deserves higher priority.
My student picks up his sister/brother and has to provide daycare and deserves higher priority.
My student is taking classes at HCC and deserves higher priority.
My student cannot get a bus when staying at the other divorced parent's home and deserves higher priority.
My student is the President of XYZ and Editor of the Yearbook and deserves higher priority.
Will these or similar usually be honored?
No. Clearly everyone has compelling reasons for a parking spot. We cannot, nor would we favor one over the other as stated above.
Submit an application with the current family car that you have. When you get a new car, provide us with a new application that reflects the new car, new copy of insurance reflecting that car and current registration in your or parent's shared last name on that car.
Bring in a new application reflecting the new car, new proof of insurance and new registration and $20, the cost of a new tag, and the OLD tag from the previous car to administration. Please note, that if your old tag is found on another car, you will lose your driving privileges.
We only issue one sticker for one car per spot. We wish we could accommodate, but we cannot.
No this is not allowed. We award spots to students as a privilege they have earned and past history has shown that if we allow this, students will essentially circumvent the process and others actually sell their spot similar to sub-letting an apartment. We definitely discourage this "scalping" of parking spots and its why we require to see registration and insurance among other reasons. If caught moving tags to allow someone else to use the spot, the student will lose their privilege and face disciplinary action. The student receiving the tag will lose "future" privileges for parking (ie a soph/junior will not receive parking at the beginning of their senior year).
Unfortunately, no they cannot have another chance. They signed the policy at the beginning of the school year ensuring that they understood this policy. Once they have completed the next semester and notify us, we will double-check and then add them to the waitlist. We view parking as a privilege. Students have to remain in good standing academically and follow the rules that support a strong learning environment.
Your son/daughter was fined during the previous year for parking unauthorized at least twice without a sticker. We maintain records on unpaid fines and match cars from previous years with cars attempting to register for a parking spot.
They will lose their parking privileges.
They will lose their parking privileges. This goes against the Student Behavior Code of Conduct and the ethics and values that we attempt to instill in our students at Seneca Senior High. We are very serious and parking is limited.
Unfortunately, we cannot. We would never advise students to park in nearby entities, neighborhoods (many have signs posted that result in towing/ticketing).
If you have observed the buses picking up students, there is simply no room for cars and we do not want to increase the risk of injury by mixing student/bus traffic. Regarding the teacher's lot, we continue to grow as a school which means our faculty/staff continues to grow. In addition, we need to maintain some parking for maintenance and visitors.
Students are not allowed to move their cars until after 4:15 to the athletic lot. With multiple sports teams, parking safely is paramount around Seneca Senior High.
