My name is Geron Wiggins and I am from Guyana, South America. I am an ELA teacher, currently working with 8th grade students here at Newberry Middle School. I aspire to be the change I want to see, and daily I encourage my students to do the same.
I attained my Trained Teacher's Certificate from the Cyril Potter of Education (Guyana) in 2008, and a Bachelor's of Arts in Literature from the University of Guyana in 2014. I am currently reading for a Masters of Arts in Innovations in Technology and Learning, with the University of South Wales, UK.
Prior to coming to the US, I worked for 13 years at the North Georgetown Secondary School (2003 - 2017) in Guyana, and 4 years at the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School, Anguilla (2017-2021).
I enjoy travelling, cooking, reading, watching action movies, and playing outdoor games.
I am currently here in Newberry with my husband of 14 years and my beautiful babies, Serena and Simeon. I am excited to work with all students, and look forward to sharing not only ELA content but also world cultures with each and every one of them.
