The district grading scale for grades 3-12 is as follows: Students grades will be weighted as follows:
90-100 = A 50% - Major assignments
80-89 = B 40% - Minor assignments
70-79 = C 10% - Classwork/homework
60-69 = D
59 and below = F
It is the student’s responsibility to complete all homework assignments. The teacher will notify parents when failure to turn in work becomes a problem. A conference will be held with the teacher, parents or guardians, student, and the administration if the problem continues.
If a student is absent on the day an assignment is due or a test is taken, a 0 will be entered into the gradebook until the assignment is completed/turned in.
When absent, students will have 5 days upon return to turn in missing work to receive full credit.
When in-school suspension or discipline program assignments have been given a predetermined date, no extra days are given for make-up work. If students are absent on a predetermined due date, the material is due the day the student returns to school.
Makeup assignments are offered for the most recent assignments, and they will be averaged with the previous grades. It is much better to keep up with your learning. If a student completes a makeup assignment, the student MUST let me know, in writing, that they have done so, so that I can assign a grade.
Catchup Cafe
Your student has an opportunity each day to make-up missing work through Catchup Café. Students will be notified to report to catchup café. These students will get their lunches and report directly to that content teacher's classroom. Teachers on duty for catchup cafe are expected to provide access to missing assignments and monitor student work completion. This is an opportunity for your student to be successful and improve grades.
